While it is certainly okay to watch the movies in release order, or any other order you can come up with, watching the movies in their historic order will enable you to see how some events took place, instead of just hearing about them in another movie (which can cause some confusion). For example, if you watch in release date order and begin with Tony Stark in Iron Man, you will miss seeing the previous events from Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain Marvel.

Not only are the MCU movies part of the highest grossing franchise of all time, but Avengers: Endgame also happens to be the highest-grossing film of all time. But you’ll have to hurry up watching the Marvel movies in order, as Black Widow comes out on November 6th, 2020 (previously scheduled for May 2020).
